Meet the founder

Kate Engledow is a senior social worker, researcher, and fierce advocate for social justice with experience supporting clients across disability, aged care, mental health, and the justice system.

As the Director of Create Allied Health Services, Kate leads with a trauma-informed, client-centred approach rooted in systems advocacy and real-world impact. Her work focuses on empowering people through life transitions — from NDIS access and housing advocacy to post-hospital discharge, guardianship, and complex case coordination.

Kate holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Western Sydney University and has completed postgraduate studies in counselling, mental health, and clinical supervision. She is currently completing a PhD at the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine and Health, researching the role of social work in aged care systems.

Kate also lectures in social work at ACAP and contributes nationally through seminars with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). She’s passionate about mentoring the next generation of social workers and advancing creative, ethical models of practice for people often failed by the system.
